QCell 10 Million Dalasi Education Initiative Reaches Grand Final

The Ten Million Dalasi initiative that was launched late 2010 continued for ten months with spelling competitions held in every school from around the country in the first phase. Later on to the second phase, schools in the six regions of the country competed, each in their region to determine the finalists that would be competing on September 17^th, 20011.

The symbolic event, the Grand Finale of the QSPELL-IT competition held at the Jama Hall Kairaba Beach Hotel marked the end of a 10 month long project organized by QCell in partnership with the Ministry of Basic and Secondary

Education. The objective of the initiative was to improve the study of English Language and Information Technology in Schools and also build on the competitive mindsets.

QCell Launches Two New Cell sites

In May of 2011, QCell Limited added two new cell sites to its existing sites in order to expand the network coverage to all region both greater Banjul and the rural areas. The two new sites were launched in Bwiam and Numuyel as the first in our 2011 expansion phase. The erection of these sites came as a result of customer demand and most importantly working towards achieving nationwide coverage in the shortest possible time.

QBantaba Family Organizes Picnic

When QCell introduced the QBantaba service, we anticipated that the service would bring people together to discuss issues and build friendship; what we did not anticipate was that these same people, who never knew each other before meeting on the QBantaba platform will organize a movement called the QBantaba Family.

The QBantaba Family Organized a Picnic on 29th May, it was the first activity after several familiarization meetings they organized. The Picnic brought together about one hundred users of the service who were all swept off their feet in excitement as they plunged in the game activities and danced to the soothing sound of music from Senegambian and international artists.
