 QCell Launches Two New Cell sites
In May of 2011, QCell Limited added two new cell sites to its existing sites in order to expand the network coverage to all region both greater Banjul and the rural areas. The two new sites were launched in Bwiam and Numuyel as the first in our 2011 expansion phase. The erection of these sites came as a result of customer demand and most importantly working towards achieving nationwide coverage in the shortest possible time.
The launching of both sites was attended by QCell Marketing officials, village Alkalis, chiefs, Imams and the local community. The message village elders and the local community relayed to QCell was uniform in both Bwiam and Numuyel, the local community welcomed the Network to their area and affirmed their appreciation to QCell for not only investing in Telecoms but also Education throughout the nation (they reemphasized the fact that the spelling bee competition was not only restricted to the greater Banjul area and included all senior secondary schools in their region as well). They also highlighted the fact that QCell is a Gambian owned company which is motivator for young Gambian entrepreneurs to invest and create an enabling environment for all Gambians.
