 QCell Launches Two New Cell sites
In May of 2011, QCell Limited added two new cell sites to its existing sites in order to expand the network coverage to all region both greater Banjul and the rural areas. The two new sites were launched in Bwiam and Numuyel as the first in our 2011 expansion phase. The erection of these sites came as a result of customer demand and most importantly working towards achieving nationwide coverage in the shortest possible time.

QCell 10 Million Dalasi Education Initiative Reaches Grand Final
 The Ten Million Dalasi initiative that was launched late 2010 continued for ten months with spelling competitions held in every school from around the country in the first phase. Later on to the second phase, schools in the six regions of the country competed, each in their region to determine the finalists that would be competing on September 17th, 20011.
The symbolic event, the Grand Finale of the QSPELL-IT competition held at the Jama Hall Kairaba Beach Hotel marked the end of a 10 month long project organized by QCell in partnership with the Ministry of Basic and Secondary
Education. The objective of the initiative was to improve the study of English Language and Information Technology in Schools and also build on the competitive mindsets.

Gambian Head of State Declares that "QCell is the Best GSM Operator in the Country."
The President of The Republic of The Gambia said on Saturday at the Grand Official Opening of QCell that “QCell is the best. If you want to beat QCell, come with something more than 3G. The president made these remarks in front of a huge crowd and in the presence of the Vice President, Speaker of the National Assembly, Ministers and other high level delegates and diplomats present at the event.
The president also thanked QCell for enabling The Gambia join the rest of the world with the latest technology in telecommunications. President Jammeh also took pride at the policies that his government put in place that gave rise to big locally owned companies like QCell.
