QCELL MMS
Multimedia Messaging Service or MMS is a telecommunications standard for sending messages that includes multimedia objects (images, audio, video, rich text). MMS is an extension of the SMS standard, allowing longer message lengths and using WAP to display the content. Its most popular use is sending photos and videos from camera-equipped handsets, although it is also popular as a method of delivering ring tones as well.
Services:
The MMS service currently supports the following services: QCELL MMS (Descriptions and Settings):
With the aim of satisfying the customer needs on various issues, QCELL has come with the Multimedia Messaging Service that provides all the above mentioned services and functions within its network. The Services can be activated through manual settings on the mobile phone regardless of its standard being 2G or 3G. This simply means that the service can function on both 2G and 3G or interactive between the two. Settings Parameters:
The MMS Settings parameters are different among different types of phones. However, the QCELL Handset is strictly preset for MMS, thereby making it automatic in accessing this service. For other phones, the settings parameters depend on its software design but, in most cases, the following parameters are general among all types of phones and need to be configured in the following format: -APN (Access Point Name) = qcellmms. Sending and Receiving:
To send any multimedia object like images, audio, video and rich texts, one has to load the item in the text screen or choose an item stored for example in the photo album and go to option and send. The sender will have to enter the destination number i.e.: the receiver’s number and press OK or the send button. Thereupon, the receiver will receive the message sent and can view it as normal message.
